Standards-based IP Telephony

WAVE 4.0 provides full SIP functionality for interoperability with the industry's leading IP telephony providers. Backward compatibility with legacy H.323 systems is maintained, and WAVE's modular architecture allows either IP telephony standard to be used.

Comprehensive Microsoft UC Integration

WAVE 4.0 tightly integrates with Microsoft unified communications environments by adding critical radio communications capability. This provides Microsoft and its partner community with a strategic interoperability solution for radio-centric markets such as public safety, transportation and utilities. Extensive support is included for Windows Mobile 5 & 6, Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 and SharePoint. Microsoft OCS clients can be customized to include a rich WAVE plug-in that provides instant access to endpoints that include radio, intercom systems and hoot & holler networks. Microsoft platforms already supported by WAVE include Windows XP, Server 2003, Internet Explorer 5 and 6 and MS Active Directory integration.

Nortel IP Telephony

WAVE 4.0 has successfully completed compatibility testing through the Nortel Developer Program and now carries the designation Nortel Compatible Product. With the new Nortel IP Phone Communicator client, users can access WAVE and interact with radio users directly from select Nortel IP phones. This feature extends desktop functionality to the handset for increased convenience. Moreover, to ensure successful WAVE implementations in all Nortel VoIP environments, WAVE has been certified on select Nortel IP-PBX infrastructure components.

Extended SDK Support for Developers

WAVE 4.0 includes an engine that runs on Linux operating systems, allowing developers to build WAVE clients using existing Java APIs to run in Linux. The WAVE SDK now exposes both .NET and Java APIs to meet the diverse needs of developers. WAVE SDK APIs are intuitive and easy to use and the documentation and sample applications provide developers with everything they need to begin.

Enhanced Network Management Tools

WAVE 4.0 extends the inherent capability of Windows SNMP and provides the capability to monitor WAVE components as part of an overall network management system (NMS).
